Our Mission
Our mission is to bring JOY to kids diagnosed with Celiac Disease by gifting them with a box of Certified Gluten-Free snacks!
As parents of a child with Celiac Disease, we empathize with the emotional and social struggles our kids encounter around food. We're committed to making snack time a joyous and inclusive experience. We also want to help other parents of children with Celiac Disease find yummy Certified Gluten-Free snacks that their kids are excited about!
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
If you can believe it… it all began with a little boy whose name is Nick….
Nick’s Snack Pack was inspired by our son, Nick, who was diagnosed with Celiac Disease when he turned 3 years old. Although he rarely complains about his dietary restriction, we can see his disappointment when he can’t enjoy the same snacks that his friends can enjoy. Every meal, snack time, special holiday celebration and birthday party is a reminder to him that he is different.
One summer day in 2023 we were gifted a large box of gluten free cookies from one of our favorite companies. I let Nick open the package and told him that he could try anything he wanted from the box. His eyes grew wide with excitement as he exclaimed “I can try ANYTHING?!”
And it hit me. Ever since his diagnosis we’ve been telling him that he can only choose from “these few ice cream flavors” at the ice cream shop and can only have “this prepackaged snack” from the local bakery. He can only choose from “these cereals,” those chips” and eat “that pizza.” His options are always so limited and he can rarely experience the pure joy that kids feel when they choose any special snack that they want. Seeing his genuine excitement over receiving a box full of snacks that are safe for him made my heart burst.
We quickly realized that we wanted to help other kids suffering from Celiac Disease feel the pure excitement of receiving a box of snacks that are just for them too, and that’s when Nick’s Snack Pack was born!
Who better to introduce our team to you then the inspiration and namesake of Nick's Snack Pack himself - Nick!
Meet Our Team
Hi friends, I’m Nick! I love eating, playing baseball, watching football, going to arcades and hanging with my little brother. I’m excited to share some of my favorite snacks with you all and can’t wait to hear what you think!
Jennifer is my mom and the one who made Nick’s Snack Pack. She loves cooking things in the air fryer, watching the news, picking us up from school and doing funny dance moves in the car.
Joe is my dad and the one who answers all of my mom’s Nick’s Snack Pack questions. He loves watching the Washington Commanders win, playing baseball with me, being funny and drinking coffee.
Landon is my little brother and an official “snack tester” for Nick’s Snack Pack! He loves applesauce, playing hide and seek, waking up at 5:30am and doing anything that I do!
Together we make up the team behind Nick’s Snack Packs. We consider everyone to whom we send a snack pack to be a new member of our Nick’s Snack Pack family. We would love for you to help us spread the word about our mission to help other kids with Celiac Disease!
ORGANIZATION HISTORY & WHAT’S NEXT
7/10/23: The concept of Nick’s Snack Pack was created!
8/25/23: We officially became a Non-Profit corporation.
9/9/23: Our first “Snack Packs” packs were distributed in Charlotte, NC.
11/27/23: We gifted our 100th “Snack Pack!”
GOAL: 500 boxes by the end of 2024!
